Tomorrow, I will buy a lottery ticket. I NEED a bigger house, this has become increasing more evident as something new (but old) seems to creep into my house every week!
This month, my lovely man and I found that we both had a Monday off work :) we haven't both managed a weekend off together this year, so a day together while the babies were at school was a welcome and much needed treat indeed. We all know how easy it is (don't we??) to find a day is wasted just mooching.....having another cup of tea and putting a bit more laundry in, and so I was decisive! Yes, I made a plan :) off to the antique and collectors fair in Stoneleigh we would go! My big car has been grounded since December, some sort of gear boxy issue, and so we'd have to make do with my Dads tiny 2 seater MG....but I was sure it would fit a bit of treasure in if we packed it well :)
These are the beauties we found! I've no idea why we ended up with toys..... I'm a sucker for a sad face I guess. The koala is made of kangaroo skin, our children hate it! And the wings.....something told me I HAD to go back after seeing them at the start of the day. I felt strangely drawn to them, and they now hang above a photograph of my Dad. We picked up 2 anglepoise lamps, so I suppose my expert rewiring/vodka drinking skills will be out to use again! Oh, and the doll.....Jemima?? I feeeel she's a Jemima.

Spring Is Bloomin' Well Sprung......I Hope?!
I was up before the sun this morning! And while it would have been nice if that meant skipping gleefully from my uncrumpled sheets in a Snow White like fashion, and making tea with a smile on my face and a bluebird on my shoulder, the reality was that I was kicked out of bed by my dog and my mans encroaching foot. (See photo.....they expect me to actually put up with this!)
Nevertheless, it has been nice to leave for work in an organised fashion, and not in a whirlwind of swear words and forgotten lunches.
My weekend was not quite what I'd planned, but cool still. On Saturday, man had me up and ready at 8:30am to go to a motorbike show in Stafford *yaaawwn*. I did express that it was under a tiny bit of duress, but I was a good girl and didn't moan an ounce all day. There were oodles of stalls selling pieces of metal, some rusty, some shiny. Pistons, push rods, valves and goodness only knows what. The men outnumbered the ladies 1000 to 1, and most were not particularly pleasing to the people watching eye, but I did find a little bit of treasure myself! Oh yes.....even at a motorbike show, I can wheedle out a bit of junk to shoehorn in to my already overstuffed house! I bought an old railway carriage lamp, which I've filled full of twinkly lights :) I also bought 3 vintage oil cans, because for £3 a shot, who wouldn't!!!?
I do love a bit of treasure hunting. I had to work a 10 hour night shift after the bike show, so the edge was taken off by uploading my wares to Instagram afterwards. I'm thinking the oil cans could become lamps quite easily with a light fitting. You think? Ill add them to the long list.......

One A Penny
Success! After using the wrong sugar, and initially forgetting the cinnamon (nothing to do with the vodka I'd drank I'm sure), my hot cross buns were a hit. Phew.
So there's been a lot of sitting about on arses, a lot of chocolate which has driven The Moo crackers all day, and a roast cooked.
And check out this beautiful find in my local Vintage shop. A très cute box of crochet thread. Inside was a half finished baby bootie and a half finished collar. This was a labour of love for somebody who never got to finish it. I long for the story behind the treasure. It pains me to separate the 'bits', but after seeing a project on the Junkaholique blog, I've filled up a Kilner jar and used the bootie and a couple of bundles of thread . I guess the ensemble could be 're-ensembled' at any time so it's ok
